Child and Teen Therapy
Kids and teens don't always have the words to explain what's going on, and sometimes they have the words but absolutely do not want to use them with an adult. I work with kids and teens experiencing anxiety, depression, OCD, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, family changes, school stress, and other challenges that can make everyday life harder than it should be.

Why Therapy is Different with Kids and Teens
Children and teens usually don’t benefit from therapy that feels like an hour-long interview. They communicate, process, and learn differently depending on their age, personality, and needs. Therapy can use conversation, play, creativity, activities, skills, and hands-on experiences to help them understand what they’re feeling, practice new ways of responding, and build confidence outside of the therapy room.

What It Looks Like With Me
I meet kids and teens where they are, but I also believe therapy should actually go somewhere. Depending on the child, that might mean play therapy, art or creative activities, games, CBT or DBT skills, ERP for OCD, or simply having a space where talking doesn’t feel forced. I use humor, honesty, and a direct approach to build connection while still working toward meaningful goals. I also involve parents when appropriate so the progress we make in therapy can carry over into home, school, and everyday life.
